A new signing and new deals
Today brings the news that Nuno Valente will spend an extra year at Goodison Park and that the Blues have released all but two of the young players given short term deals in the last two years.John Irving, who has progressed through the ranks to become reserve team "player of the year" this season has been offered a new contract just two years after making his "under 17's" debut at the age of 15. A right-back or central defender, Irving impresses on-lookers wherever he is deployed, and should he agree new terms it is likely we will be seeing him in the first team at some point next season.
Darren Dennehy is the other youngster to have been offered a new deal, after the Irish defender has clearly done more than enough to impress David Moyes in the reserves this term.
Paul Scharner is among those linked with a move to the Blues today, although this is probably more out of desperation from the tabloids who haven't finished re-surfacing last year's rumours....
Finally, news that NSNO goalscoring sensation could be on the brink of a move to Everton has been rejected by NSNO boss Simon Paul.
"I've no idea where this news has come from," he said. "Andy has only recently signed for NSNO and any move for the player would be rebuffed. Infact, you could offer me £50m for Andy and I would say 'Thank you very much, but what else would you like to talk about?'"

£20m for Moyes
Word around the campfire is that David Moyes will have a "warchest" of around £20m to spend this coming summer which, although it will possibly mean Yakubu remains our record signing, will provide the boss with funds for a variety of players.Moyes has watched a number of players who will be available for around a quarter of that amount, and will no doubt have his usual canny loan deals up his sleeve to wow us with.
Micheal Bradley, Steve Sidwell, Arshavin. and potentially Joaquin could all be well within Moyes' grasp if he can use his powers of persuassion to pay very little upfront.
These players will all add quality and strength in depth to a squad that will benefit from a lack of African Nations Cup duty next term, meaning Yakubu, Yobo, and Pienaar will be available through the traditionally difficult phase of the season, and with Tim Cahill and James Vaughan looking set to return to fitness for next term, Moyes could easily use that £20m to it's best potential.
Add to those potential new signings the acquisition of Manuel Fernandes on a further year long loan, and the other potential loan deals that Moyes has made work so effectively in the past, and we have the continuation of building towards a side that can challenge the top four.
